Family members partake in Afghani music and good food. Afghani food is served in large pots and platters
and placed on large sheets, mats or carpets. Cushions
are placed around for seating and the food is generally eaten by the right hand after the
traditional hand washing – very similar to the Indian style.
The menu usually
consists of meats, rice, naan breads, vegetables, salads, pickles, yogurt, puddings and
sweet pastries. Dug or murg beverages made of
yogurt and buttermilk are served.
